Introduction of the WA Building and Construction Industry Code of Conduct

The Western Australian Building and Construction Industry Code of Conduct 2016 will apply from 1 January 2017 to the new tendering processes of State projects with a value in excess of $10 million and will be rolled out to all other contracts when provisions can be drafted and included in the tendering process.

The WA code was developed to ensure that Western Australian government agencies, when expending public funds, contract with building contractors that conduct themselves in a reputable, fair, safe and responsible manner, both in dealings with the State of Western Australia and within the building and construction industry more broadly.
