CPD distance learning - real estate

Participants operating outside of the State, or in its remote and regional areas, will be given adequate opportunities to obtain their CPD points.

Remote (regional WA) participants

A remote participant is any participant whose principal place of business falls outside a 100km radius of:

  • Perth,
  • Kalgoorlie,
  • Geraldton,
  • Albany,
  • Bunbury,
  • Busselton,
  • Port Hedland,
  • Broome,
  • Karratha,
  • Northam, or
  • Margaret River

Elective components

To assist remote participants to complete the elective component of CPD, remote participants are permitted to accrue a maximum of six CPD points per CPD cycle for activities categorised under Learning Category Four. For non-remote participants a standard maximum of three points applies for Learning Category Four activities.

While this category does not require the training provider to be a Registered Training Organisation, the course or activities must be approved by Consumer Protection and listed on its website.

Mandatory components

All remote participants must complete the mandatory component of the CPD program. Each year, distance learning packages will be made available to enable remote participants to complete the mandatory activities during each CPD cycle.

Interstate participants

You need to obtain your CPD points in Western Australia if your licence was granted under the Mutual Recognition (Western Australia) Act 2001 Act. For further information see the mutual recognition page.

Activities conducted in another state or territory under their respective CPD programs can be undertaken as elective components. If these activities have not been approved and are not listed on the Consumer Protection website, you can write to Consumer Protection after you have completed the activity to request to have elective points awarded to it.

These requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and evidence of completion must be presented along with details of the activity.
